Wordtracker was started in 1998 by Mike and Andy Mindel when Google was starting to experience its meteoric growth. It's a Search Engine Optimization platform that lets clients access data from a variety of crawlers (eg. Google Bot, Yandex, Bing, etc.) The data in question enables the client to understand how popular a certain phrase has been over a set period of time. However, synonyms, variations and phrases containing the phrase are also tracked. Together with the sites that get the most hits using this data, the client is placed in a position to use the data to better understand how to optimize their business for search engines.
